November 25, 2014 Meeting

November 25 2014

Ninety-two women came together at a beautifully Christmas decorated Kingswood Lodge on November 25th, 2014.  It was very inspiring to be in a room where exactly one year earlier we gave over $16,000 to create a brown bag lunch program at local schools.  We were down to a skeleton of volunteers as there was another event for women in town, which involved our volunteers and ran into other glitches, but the true spirit of 100 WomenWhoCare is ALWAYS in the room!  Each woman ready to learn about the charities, ready to be inspired, and ready to give back to their community.

The three charities that presented were: The Fredericton Food Bank (developing their class 4 kitchen with cooking classes for young and old), Partners for Youth (funding their Making Waves program for the youth and taught by youth to empower and decrease violence) and Fredericton Sexual Assualt Crisis Centre. (help fund their one-on-one counceling to victems and survivors of sexual assault, along with the numerous crisis intervention programs not just in our city, but as well across New Brunswick.

It was our closest vote ever!!!  Only 3 votes seperated the three charities; the women chose to support Partners for youth with $9200 with more cheques still rolling in.

Thank you 100WomenWhoCare-Fredericton!

September 29, 2014 Meeting

September 29 meeting

101 Women came together at the Crowne Plaza downtown on September 29th, 2014. This was our first meeting into our second year of existence as 100WomenWhoCare-Fredericton.

The three charities that presented were: Muriel McQueen Fergusson Foundation, The New Brunswick Public Libraries and the Women Shelter- Grace House. Like each meeting, it was difficult to vote for just one charity.  After the votes were tallied, the women chose to literally repair the foundation of Grace House with $10,100.

Thank you 100WomenWhoCare-Fredericton!

November 24, 2013 Meeting

On November 24th, 2013, women came in the bitter cold to a beautiful warm and cozy lodge at Kingswood to select our second recipient.

Our guest speakers were from:The Fredericton SPCA, The Fredericton Food Bank, and the Fredericton Community Kitchen.

Thank you to each presenter for sharing your organizations goals and challenges. We appreciate you taking your time to share your needs.

Once again, this was a challenging vote.  All three charities needed our help, but working within the parameters of 100 Women Who Care and to create significant change the members voted to support The Fredericton Community Kitchen. They needed our help to lauch the Brown Bag Lunch program to students that were hungry at a local highschool.

And this is how quick YOU  too can make a difference in your community....

On Monday November 24, 2013, our membership voted to donate $15,600 to the Fredericton Community Kitchen

Three days later...The 1st brown bag lunches were being delivered to the students!

Imagine how well these children will be able to learn from this point on. Thank you Ladies!
